Manchester United vs Arsenal: Preview and Predictions
Monday night sees Manchester United welcome their rivals Arsenal to Old Trafford for Match Day 7 action.
Ole Gunnar’s side are in desperate need of a positive outcome. With just two wins in their opening six Premier League matches, things are not looking great for United as they are in danger of falling behind in the top four chase. A positive result against Arsenal could give the side some hope for a top 4 finish.
Manchester United who suffered a 2-0 defeat to West Ham last weekend, and struggled against Rochdale in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday to win on penalties, has constantly struggled since their stunning 4-0 victory against Chelsea in the opening week.
Arsenal on the other hand, has had a much better start in the season. Coming from a huge victory against Aston Villa last weekend and 5-0 victory against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday, they will fancy their chances against Manchester United.
With Manchester United’s current performance, and their injury list, Arsenal should be able to take advantage of the situation. But then again, its football, its unpredictable.
Manchester United will be without Eric Bailly, Anthony Martial, Phil Jones and Timothy Fosu-Mensah. While Marcus Rashford, Paul Pogba, Luke Shaw, Diego Dalot and Angel Gomes are doubts to play.
Arsenal will be without Alexandre Lacazette who is out with an ankle injury, Emile Smith Rowe with a concussion, Hector Bellerin and Konstantinos Mavropanos.
The last time both sides met in the league, it ended in a 2-0 victory for Arsenal.
